We’re about to kick off winter season!

For those of you lucky enough to have snagged a spot in our winter season, mark your calendars with these distribution dates:

Saturday, November 18, 12:30 – 1:30 PM
Saturday, December 16, 12:30 – 1:30 PM
Saturday, January 6, 12:30 – 1:30 PM

Our CSA’s distributions happen year-round, in the great outdoors, at the M’Finda Kalunga Community Garden. Yes, even when the temps dip down to frigid. A few things to keep in mind:

  • Your produce will come packed inside a 1-bushel cardboard box, which is sized to carry. However, many members prefer to transfer their items into tote bags or rolling shopping trolleys and leave the boxes with us (farmer Ted will reuse them!)–if that’s you, don’t forget to bring totes.
  • Our distribution lasts exactly 1 hour, starting at 12:30 PM and ending promptly at 1:30 PM. If you come after that window, it’s likely that our local soup kitchen volunteer will already have carted off your items. Make sure you come on time!
  • If you can’t make it to one of the distributions, send someone on your behalf, because we unfortunately can’t hang on to anything for hand-off at a later date or time. Offering your friend a bribe of something delectable from your box usually works wonders 🙂
  • If you’re ever stumped about what to do with a particularly weird looking thing in your box, just ask around during distribution–our fellow members are a friendly and veggie-obsessed bunch! Or check out our online collection of recipes for ideas.
