What: Juneteenth Celebration
Where: M’Finda Kalunga Community Garden
When: Saturday, June 16th, 12 -4 pm

Juneteenth is the oldest known celebration of the end of slavery. It dates back to 1865, when Union Soldiers landed in Galveston, Texas with the news that the war had ended and that all enslaved people were now free. Juneteenth is a commemoration of African-American Heritage, and a celebration of self-development and respect for all cultures. It is a time for education and a time to reflect and rejoice.
